Roma Join Race for Franco Mastantuono as Real Madrid Push for Loan Exit

Roma have entered the race to sign Franco Mastantuono on loan from Real Madrid, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Spanish giants have decided that the Argentine talent must leave temporarily to secure regular playing time. Mastantuono has consequently been separated from the first-team group and will not travel to Austria with Real Madrid for their next pre-season fixture.

Fiorentina have been pushing to secure the 18-year-old for several weeks, but Roma have also made an approach as they assess possible reinforcements for their attack. The two Serie A clubs face further competition from teams in France and Spain.

Real Madrid have already opened the door to a loan, but reportedly intend to sanction only a temporary move without an option to buy. The objective is to give Mastantuono consistent senior minutes while retaining complete control over his long-term future.

Roma’s interest remains at an exploratory stage, with no agreement reported between the clubs or with the player. Fiorentina currently appear to be the most active Italian side in the race, although Mastantuono’s omission from Real Madrid’s travelling squad could accelerate negotiations.

The Argentina international is regarded as one of the most promising players of his generation. His technical quality, creativity and ability to operate across the attacking line make him an attractive option for Roma as the club continues to evaluate opportunities in the summer market.
