Roma have officially completed the signing of Konstantinos Koulierakis, making the Greek international the club’s second arrival of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old joins from Wolfsburg in a deal reportedly worth around €18 million, strengthening Gian Piero Gasperini’s defensive options ahead of the new season.
In an official statement, Roma confirmed that Koulierakis has joined the club on a permanent transfer.
“AS Roma are pleased to announce the signing of Konstantinos Koulierakis from Wolfsburg. The transfer has been completed on a permanent basis. The 2003-born defender previously played for PAOK and Wolfsburg. He made his senior debut for the Greece national team at the age of 18 and has earned 22 international caps to date. He has chosen the number 33 shirt. Welcome to Roma, Konstantinos!”
Koulierakis arrives after establishing himself as one of Greece’s brightest defensive talents and is expected to play an important role in Roma’s back line as the Giallorossi prepare for a campaign that includes both Serie A and the Champions League.
