Roma are preparing for UEFA’s verdict following the conclusion of the club’s Financial Fair Play assessment, with sanctions expected but not considered severe.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi expect to receive a fine of between €10 million and €12 million for failing to fully meet the agreed financial targets.
The report adds that Roma are also anticipating a reduction in their European squad for the 2027-28 season, with the list expected to decrease from the standard 25 players to 22.
However, harsher sporting sanctions are considered unlikely. Restrictions preventing Roma from registering new signings for UEFA competitions are viewed as difficult to justify, while the possibility of exclusion from European competition is regarded as highly improbable.
The club remains confident that any punishment will be limited to financial and squad-size measures, allowing Gian Piero Gasperini to continue building his project without facing the most severe consequences.
