Roma have not made any concrete move for Rafael Leão despite ongoing speculation linking the AC Milan winger with a switch to the capital.
According to La Repubblica and Marco Juric, there have been no approaches from the Giallorossi at this stage. The main obstacle remains the enormous financial package required to complete such a deal.
Leão’s transfer fee and salary demands are currently considered beyond Roma’s reach, while clubs in Turkey are reportedly prepared to offer the Portuguese international a significantly more lucrative contract.
However, the report does not completely rule out a future move. If Leão is still at Milanello towards the end of the transfer window, Roma could reassess the situation and explore whether a deal becomes more realistic in the closing weeks of August.
For now, Roma’s focus remains on more attainable attacking targets as sporting director Tony D’Amico continues his search for a new winger to strengthen Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
