Alessio Cacciamani's transfer to Roma could be determined soon

Torino reject Roma’s €10m bid for Alessio Cacciamani as Gasperini remains determined

Roma’s pursuit of Torino talent Alessio Cacciamani is far from over despite an initial setback.

According to reports in Italy, the Giallorossi recently submitted an offer worth €10 million plus bonuses for the 19-year-old winger. Torino, however, rejected the proposal, with club president Urbano Cairo valuing the youngster at no less than €15 million.

Cacciamani is regarded as one of Italy’s brightest young prospects. After joining Torino on a free transfer in 2023 following Ancona’s bankruptcy, he impressed in the club’s academy before enjoying a productive loan spell at Juve Stabia last season. His technical ability, athleticism and maturity have made him one of the most highly rated young wide players in Serie A.

Despite Torino’s refusal, Roma are not expected to abandon the deal.

Gian Piero Gasperini is said to be the driving force behind the club’s interest after personally monitoring Cacciamani for several months through trusted scouts. The Roma head coach sees him as the ideal backup on the left flank following Angeliño’s departure to Deportivo La Coruña and Wesley’s expected switch to the opposite side.

For now, Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi would prefer to keep the teenager, while Cairo is also reluctant to sell unless a significantly improved offer arrives.

Cacciamani himself is understood to be flattered by Roma’s interest and Gasperini’s admiration. However, the youngster currently appears to favour staying with Torino for another season, believing it is the best environment to continue his development after making the jump from youth football to Serie A in such a short period.

With a month still remaining in the transfer window, Roma are expected to continue monitoring the situation as they weigh up whether to return with an improved offer.
