Roma look set to miss out on another highly rated attacking talent, with Paris Saint-Germain moving quickly to sign Mika Godts from Ajax.
According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG have submitted an official bid worth more than €40 million, with the total package expected to reach around €45 million. Negotiations are progressing rapidly and are closing in on Ajax’s initial €60 million valuation.
The deal appears to be well advanced after the Belgian winger agreed to join the French champions. Romano reports that Godts has already said yes to PSG, with personal terms fully agreed.
Roma had previously been linked with the 21-year-old and were among the clubs that had opened talks over a potential move earlier this summer. However, the financial strength of PSG has effectively taken the Giallorossi out of the race.
It marks another instance of Roma missing out on one of Europe’s most promising young attacking players as sporting director Tony D’Amico continues to search for reinforcements on the wing. The Giallorossi remain focused on alternative targets, with Antonio Nusa still considered one of the club’s priority options before the transfer window closes.
