Roma continue to explore the market for a new attacking winger, with Jamie Leweling emerging as another player under consideration as the club looks to strengthen Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
According to Il Corriere della Sera, the Stuttgart winger has been added to Roma’s shortlist as sporting director Tony D’Amico keeps multiple options open ahead of the closing weeks of the transfer window.
The Giallorossi remain determined to sign a wide attacker capable of adding pace, creativity and versatility to Gasperini’s system. While several targets have already been assessed, Roma are preparing alternative plans should their primary objectives prove too expensive.
Leweling is regarded as an attractive profile thanks to his ability to play in multiple attacking positions. The 2001-born Germany international has impressed with Stuttgart and fits the dynamic style Gasperini typically demands from his forwards.
However, any deal would be difficult to complete. Stuttgart are believed to value Leweling at around €50 million, making negotiations complicated for Roma at this stage.
Despite Leweling’s emergence as a candidate, Antonio Nusa remains Roma’s preferred target. The RB Leipzig winger continues to top the club’s wishlist, although Leipzig’s asking price of around €60 million has forced Roma to continue evaluating alternative options.
With the summer window entering its final month, Roma are expected to remain active as they search for the attacking reinforcement Gasperini has requested before the start of the new Serie A season.
