Givairo Read for Feyenoord

Alfredo Pedullà: Roma to make new push for Givairo Read as Molina and Fresneda remain alternatives

Roma are set to make another attempt to sign Givairo Read today, but the club remain unwilling to increase their current offer.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Giallorossi will continue negotiations with Feyenoord while standing firm on their proposal of €27 million plus a percentage on any future sale. The Dutch club are reportedly continuing to raise their asking price, but Roma have no intention of entering a bidding war.

Sporting director Tony D’Amico remains optimistic that a compromise can still be found, although discussions have dragged on for several weeks without a final agreement.

Molina and Fresneda remain on Roma’s shortlist

Pedullà adds that Roma are also keeping alternative options in mind should the Read deal fail to materialise.

Among the names being monitored are Nahuel Molina of Atlético Madrid and Iván Fresneda, with both full-backs remaining on the club’s shortlist as contingency plans.

Despite those alternatives, Read remains Roma’s preferred target for the right flank. The Giallorossi will make another push in the coming hours, hoping to finally reach an agreement without exceeding their valuation of the Dutch defender.

Di Marzio: Roma ready to turn to Fresneda or Molina if Read deal collapses

Roma have a backup plan in place should their pursuit of Givairo Read come to an end.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Giallorossi have submitted a second offer worth €25 million plus €3 million in bonuses for the Feyenoord full-back.

If the Dutch club reject the proposal, sporting director Tony D’Amico is expected to move on to alternative targets, with Iván Fresneda and Nahuel Molina emerging as the two leading candidates to strengthen Roma’s right flank.

Filippo Biafora: Nahuel Molina remains Roma alternative to Givairo Read

According to Filippo Biafora, Nahuel Molina is one of the main alternatives being considered by Roma if a deal for Givairo Read cannot be completed.

The Atlético Madrid full-back is currently on holiday following the Club World Cup and is not expected to return until August 10, meaning any potential move would likely only accelerate after his return.

Lorenzo Canicchio: Roma revive Nahuel Molina pursuit as Read deadline approaches

According to Lorenzo Canicchio, Roma have stepped up their interest in Nahuel Molina as they prepare for what could be a decisive day in their pursuit of Givairo Read.

The report claims the Giallorossi are ready to turn to the Atlético Madrid full-back if Feyenoord reject what is expected to be their final attempt to sign Read.

Should the Dutch deal collapse, Roma could use those funds to pursue Molina while also continuing their efforts to sign Alessio Cacciamani from Torino as part of their plans to strengthen both flanks.

Earlier update from the Netherlands: Feyenoord reject latest Roma offer for Givairo Read

Earlier today, reports from the Netherlands suggested that negotiations between Roma and Feyenoord had slowed after the Dutch club rejected the Giallorossi’s latest proposal for Givairo Read.

According to Joost Blaauwhof of Voetbal International, Roma’s offer was worth more than €28 million plus a 10% sell-on clause, but Feyenoord remained firm on their valuation and refused to lower their demands.

The report indicated that the Rotterdam club were standing their ground despite the player’s desire to join Roma.
