Roma have not given up hope of signing Givairo Read, but negotiations with Feyenoord remain at a standstill.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Giallorossi have already improved on their initial €25 million offer, yet Feyenoord continue to demand a higher fee. The Dutch club also believe Nottingham Forest could return with an improved bid in the coming days, strengthening their position despite Read already reaching an agreement on personal terms with Roma.
While the Read negotiations remain open, Roma are simultaneously advancing talks for Nahuel Molina as an alternative at right-back.
According to Matteo Moretto, the Giallorossi have submitted an official offer worth €17 million including bonuses (€13m fixed plus €4m in add-ons) to Atlético Madrid. The Spanish club considers Molina an important member of Diego Simeone’s squad, but not an untouchable one, and is willing to evaluate Roma’s proposal.
Despite the progress, Moretto adds that the deal is not expected to be completed immediately, with further negotiations required before any agreement can be reached.
Roma are therefore keeping both options alive as they continue working to strengthen Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad before the transfer window closes.
