Nahuel Molina for Argentina

Fabrizio Romano & Matteo Moretto: Roma complete Nahuel Molina signing

Roma have completed the signing of Nahuel Molina, with the deal now fully agreed between all parties.

According to Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, the Giallorossi will pay a total package of €18 million, including bonuses, to secure the Argentine international from Atlético Madrid.

Molina has already given his approval to the move after reaching an agreement on personal terms. The defender is now expected to sign his contract later this week, with only the final formalities remaining before the transfer becomes official.

The arrival of Molina marks another major addition for Gian Piero Gasperini, who has identified the Argentine as his preferred reinforcement at right-back. Roma moved quickly to finalise the deal after exploring several alternatives, and the club will now look to turn its attention to strengthening other areas of the squad before the transfer window closes.

Roma moved quickly as Nahuel Molina deal comes together

Roma had already begun working on a move for Nahuel Molina on Monday evening after it became clear that Feyenoord would not accept the club’s improved offer of €25 million plus €3 million in bonuses for Givairo Read.

According to Lorenzo Canicchio, the Dutch club’s demands had always exceeded €30 million, prompting the Giallorossi to accelerate talks with Atlético Madrid rather than wait for the Read negotiations to change.

Canicchio also dismissed reports suggesting Atlético initially rejected a €17 million package before accepting €13 million plus €4 million in bonuses, describing those claims as inaccurate.

The completion of the Molina deal represents Tony D’Amico’s third major signing after Santiago Castro and Konstantinos Koulierakis, with Gasperini landing one of La Liga’s most productive defenders over the last four seasons, having contributed nine goals and 16 assists.
