Former Roma centre-back Roger Ibañez could be on the move again after pausing contract extension talks with Al-Ahli.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Brazilian defender has put negotiations over a new deal on hold after attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.
Among the interested sides is Aston Villa, who have reportedly made repeated contact with Ibañez’s representatives as they assess a potential move. However, no formal offer has been submitted at this stage.
Ibañez left Roma for Al-Ahli in the summer of 2023 and has established himself as one of the Saudi club’s key defenders. Despite being settled in Saudi Arabia, growing interest from England has reopened speculation over his future.
For now, discussions over a contract renewal remain on hold while the situation develops, with Aston Villa monitoring the former Giallorossi defender closely.
