Massimo Margiotta the Head of Roma's Youth Sector

Lorenzo Canicchio: Roma youth sector active on D’Ambrosi, Compaore, Ballarin and Lo Scalzo

Roma’s youth recruitment department is working on several potential additions as new academy chief Massimo Margiotta begins reshaping the Giallorossi’s development system.

According to Lorenzo Canicchio, one of the most advanced deals involves Gennaro D’Ambrosi, a 2010-born attacking midfielder from Hellas Verona. The teenager is considered the most likely arrival and would follow Margiotta from the same club.

Roma are also monitoring Abdoul Alim Compaore, a 2009-born defensive midfielder owned by Verona, while negotiations remain active for Francesco Ballarin. The Venezia midfielder, also born in 2009, has already represented Italy at youth level and helped the Under-17 side win the European Championship in June.

Another player on Roma’s radar is Luca Lo Scalzo of Ascoli. The 2007-born midfielder recently extended his contract until 2029 after spending last season on loan at Napoli, where he recorded four goals and four assists in 30 appearances.

The activity reflects Roma’s intention to strengthen the academy at several age levels while also resolving a number of incoming and outgoing situations across the youth sector.
