Roma continue to monitor Malick Fofana, but a move for the Lyon winger is becoming increasingly unlikely under the current conditions.
According to Il Tempo‘s Filippo Biafora, Roma scouts were in attendance to watch the Belgian during Lyon’s UEFA Champions League qualifying match. However, the report states that the deal is not considered viable at this stage.
The main obstacles are Lyon’s asking price, which remains around €40 million, and concerns over the player’s current physical condition.
While Fofana remains appreciated by the Giallorossi, Roma are unwilling to match the French club’s valuation given the circumstances. As a result, the move is currently on hold, with Antonio Nusa continuing to be viewed as Gian Piero Gasperini’s preferred attacking target.
