Francesco Balzani: Roma consider Jamie Bynoe-Gittens loan as winger search drags on

Roma’s failure to land a new attacking winger is beginning to create some tension as Gian Piero Gasperini waits for the reinforcement he expected earlier in the summer.

According to Francesco Balzani, speaking on Tele Radio Stereo, Gasperini had hoped for a decisive acceleration in recent weeks. The failed moves for Mason Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville have complicated Roma’s planning in attack and forced sporting director Tony D’Amico to reopen the search in the Premier League.

The latest name under consideration is Jamie Bynoe-Gittens of Chelsea. The English club signed the 2004-born winger from Borussia Dortmund for around €60 million, making a permanent transfer unrealistic for Roma.

For that reason, the Giallorossi would only consider a loan deal. The operation remains very difficult, but Bynoe-Gittens is now one of the profiles being evaluated as Roma continue their search for a left-sided attacking reinforcement.
