Torino president Urbano Cairo has admitted that Alessio Cacciamani could still leave the club this summer despite his desire to keep the highly rated youngster.
Speaking to Sky Sport, Cairo addressed the growing speculation surrounding the 2007-born talent, who has been strongly linked with a move to Roma in recent weeks.
“I’m keeping him close.”
However, the Torino president stopped short of ruling out a transfer altogether.
“There are other clubs besides Roma. I’d like to keep him, but we’ll see how the market develops and how things end. It depends on the offers.”
Roma remain interested in Cacciamani as they continue to explore options for the future, although Torino have consistently maintained a high asking price for one of Italy’s most promising young players. Cairo’s comments suggest the door is not completely closed, but any deal will depend on whether Roma—or another club—are willing to meet Torino’s valuation before the transfer window closes.
