Roma’s search for a new attacking winger remains one of the club’s top priorities, with Gian Piero Gasperini continuing to push for a player capable of making an immediate impact.
According to Corriere della Sera, one of the main topics during the recent meetings in Wales was the budget available to complete the final major signing of the summer.
The discussions, led by CEO John Galantic, reportedly focused on balancing Roma’s financial limits with Gasperini’s desire to add a starting-quality right-footed winger before the transfer window closes.
The meetings are believed to have contributed to the cancellation of Gasperini’s scheduled appearance on Sky Sport, as club officials assessed the resources still available after Roma’s recent transfer activity.
Despite the financial considerations, Gasperini is said to have made his position clear. The coach believes the squad is still missing a decisive attacking winger capable of immediately improving the team’s quality as Roma prepare for their return to the Champions League.
Sporting director Tony D’Amico now faces the challenge of finding a solution that satisfies both the coach’s technical demands and the club’s financial parameters, with Roma continuing to evaluate several targets ahead of the new season.
