Luigi Cherubini is nearing a temporary departure from Roma as the club looks to secure regular playing time for one of its promising academy products.
According to Il Messaggero, Benevento have moved ahead of Las Palmas in the race to sign the 2004-born winger and are now close to reaching an agreement with the Giallorossi.
The proposed deal would see Cherubini join Benevento on a season-long loan with an option to buy, giving him the opportunity to gain valuable first-team experience while continuing his development away from Trigoria.
Las Palmas had shown strong interest in recent weeks, but Benevento have accelerated negotiations and are now considered clear favourites to complete the transfer.
Only the final details remain before the move is finalized, with Roma viewing the loan as the best solution to help Cherubini continue his progress through consistent playing time.
