There is a full verbal agreement on the paid loan and option to buy, but the conditions that would turn the option into an obligation are still delaying Porto’s final approval.

Villas-Boas and Jorge Mendes remain in constant contact tonight, with negotiations set to resume in the morning as Roma continue pushing to finalize the deal.

According to Matteo Moretto, Rodrigo Mora’s move to Roma is now down to the final details, with fresh contacts between the parties continuing tonight as the clubs move closer to completion.

Roma are now waiting for the final approval of Porto president André Villas-Boas, while Mora has already given his green light to the move.

Further confirmation has arrived from Portugal regarding Rodrigo Mora’s potential move to Roma. According to Record Portugal, negotiations are at an advanced stage with the proposed agreement worth €25 million plus a 40% future resale clause for Porto.

Roma would have the option to eliminate that percentage by paying an additional €20-25 million. The deal would not include a buy-back clause for Porto.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Roma already have an agreement with Rodrigo Mora, while there will be no buy-back clause for Porto as the Giallorossi would never accept that structure.

Roma are working on a deal worth €25 million for 50% of Mora’s rights, with the possibility of paying another €25 million next summer to complete the full transfer.

The focus now remains on finalizing the agreement with Porto and bringing Mora to Rome.

7:00 AM ET – Di Marzio – Roma are closing in on Rodrigo Mora

Roma are working to finalize the signing of Rodrigo Mora with a structure designed to give the club greater flexibility over the player’s future.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma would pay €25 million for 50% of Mora’s rights, while Porto would retain a 50% share of any future resale. The Giallorossi would then hold an option, not an obligation, to eliminate that percentage by paying a further €25 million by 2027.

The formula would allow Roma to secure Mora now while keeping the possibility of gaining full control of the player later.

Di Marzio also denied reports of a buy-back clause in Porto’s favour, stating that such a condition has never been part of the negotiations.

Meanwhile, Porto are already looking at possible replacements. As reported by Fabrizio Romano and also by Corriere dello Sport, the Portuguese club have made initial contact with AC Milan over Santiago Gimenez, who has been identified by André Villas-Boas as a potential successor to Mora.
