Roma’s transfer activity remained intense on Wednesday evening, with Rodrigo Mora still at the centre of attention as Jorge Mendes works to overcome the final differences between the Giallorossi and Porto.
Rodrigo Mora talks enter delicate phase
According to Fabrizio Romano, Jorge Mendes is working with all parties involved to try to close Rodrigo Mora’s move to Roma.
The negotiations have become increasingly delicate after Porto president André Villas-Boas requested changes to the conditions attached to the obligation to buy. Roma and Porto had been close to completing the deal, but the Portuguese club pushed for easier and more objective triggers.
Roma have proposed conditions linked to Mora reaching a percentage of appearances and the club qualifying for the Champions League, while Porto have asked for guarantees that would make the obligation easier to activate.
Mendes is now attempting to bridge the remaining gap and bring the operation back toward completion.
Luis Henrique deal remains uncertain
Roma’s pursuit of Luis Henrique also remains complicated.
Reports throughout the day suggested differing versions of the negotiations with Inter. Some sources claimed the clubs were close to an agreement, while Matteo Moretto later reported that the operation remains far from completion.
The Brazilian has not yet given Roma his approval, while there are also reported doubts within the club’s technical staff over whether he is the right profile.
The financial demands surrounding personal terms have also contributed to the current stalemate.
Roma continue Cacciamani push
Roma have not given up on Alessio Cacciamani.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Giallorossi are preparing a new offer for the Torino youngster and still believe the deal can be unlocked.
Roma want to understand whether Torino are willing to reopen discussions, with Cacciamani remaining one of the club’s preferred options for the flank.
Udogie track becomes more difficult
The situation around Destiny Udogie has become more complicated.
Tottenham reportedly rejected Roma’s loan-with-option proposal, while Inter moving closer to Djed Spence could make Spurs even less willing to let another wing-back leave.
Roma may therefore need to significantly improve their offer or turn their attention elsewhere.
Martinelli race heats up
Roma have also requested information about Gabriel Martinelli, but Galatasaray have taken the strongest step so far.
According to Florian Plettenberg, the Turkish club submitted an official €45 million offer to Arsenal for the Brazilian winger.
For now, Roma have not advanced beyond an initial enquiry.
Roma continue to work on multiple fronts
With less than three weeks remaining in the transfer window, Roma are still working across several positions.
The priority remains resolving the Mora negotiations, while Cacciamani, Luis Henrique and other attacking options continue to be assessed.
The next few hours could once again prove decisive as Mendes attempts to deliver the breakthrough Roma have been waiting for.
