Luigi Cherubini is set to begin a new chapter at Benevento after reaching an agreement to extend his Roma contract before leaving the capital.
According to Lorenzo Canicchio, the 2004-born winger will sign a new deal with Roma until 2029 before joining Benevento on loan. The agreement includes an obligation to buy linked to promotion to Serie A and individual performance objectives.
Benevento will also cover Cherubini’s full salary during the loan spell.
Medical examinations are expected between today and tomorrow, after which Cherubini will sign his contract and the transfer will be made official.
The move gives Cherubini an opportunity to secure regular playing time while Roma retain control of his future unless the conditions triggering Benevento’s purchase obligation are met.
