Roma remain in the race for Malick Fofana, but face competition from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for the highly rated Lyon winger according to Ekrem Konur and Fussballdaten.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the most attractive young attackers on the European market thanks to his explosiveness, dribbling ability and direct play from the flank.
Olympique Lyon are open to considering a sale, but the French club have established firm financial conditions for any negotiations. Lyon reportedly want at least €40 million before they are prepared to discuss Fofana’s departure and intend to reject offers below that figure.
The club’s recent financial restructuring has increased the importance of generating revenue through player sales. However, Lyon have no intention of allowing one of their most valuable young players to leave at a discounted price.
Fofana’s contract runs until 2028, giving Lyon a strong negotiating position and allowing them to maintain their €40m valuation.
Roma therefore face a significant investment if they decide to accelerate for the Belgian, while competition from RB Leipzig could further complicate negotiations.
