Gabriel Martinelli has no interest in joining Galatasaray, despite the Turkish club submitting a significant offer to Arsenal.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Martinelli’s camp have made it clear that a move to Galatasaray is not on the agenda for the Brazilian international.
Arsenal have received a €45 million bid from Galatasaray and are open to selling the 25-year-old if a suitable proposal arrives this summer. However, the player’s position means the Turkish club’s pursuit currently faces a major obstacle.
The development could be significant for Roma, who have previously requested information about Martinelli as they continue searching for another attacking reinforcement.
Galatasaray had emerged as the strongest contender for the winger, but Martinelli’s rejection could leave the door open for other interested clubs if Arsenal continue to consider offers.
7:43 PM ET — Matteo Moretto: Martinelli move financially impossible for Roma
According to Matteo Moretto, a move for Gabriel Martinelli is impossible for Roma from a salary perspective.
Despite the Arsenal winger being linked with the Giallorossi, the financial demands involved in his contract put the Brazilian outside Roma’s current wage parameters.
12:46 PM ET — Florian Plettenberg: Martinelli rules out Turkey as Arsenal remain open to sale
According to Florian Plettenberg, Gabriel Martinelli has decided 100% that he will not move to Turkey during this transfer window, with Galatasaray already informed of his decision.
A summer departure from Arsenal remains possible if a suitable offer arrives from another league, with the Gunners prepared to sell the Brazilian for the right price.
Martinelli will therefore remain a player to watch until Deadline Day, while Galatasaray are now turning their attention back to Rafael Leão.
