Fiorentina midfielder Arthur Atta has suffered a physical problem just over a week before the Viola open their Serie A season against Roma.
Atta was forced off in the 65th minute of Fiorentina’s Coppa Italia match against Benevento after experiencing discomfort in his adductor. He was replaced by Federico Croci.
The midfielder will now be assessed by Fiorentina’s medical staff to determine the extent of the problem and how quickly he can return to Fabio Grosso’s squad.
Attention will inevitably turn to Fiorentina’s Serie A opener against Roma on Monday, August 24 at the Stadio Olimpico. The match will mark the first league fixture of the season for both clubs.
Atta’s availability will depend on how the injury develops over the coming days. Fiorentina will hope the issue is minor as Grosso prepares his squad for the trip to the capital.
