8:30 AM ET – Roma’s ownership are evaluating Porto’s demands as Jorge Mendes continues working to unlock the deal
The Rodrigo Mora saga has reached another decisive stage, with the final call now resting with the Friedkin family.
According to Matteo Moretto, Roma’s ownership are evaluating the overall cost of the operation to determine whether the club should take one final step and accept Porto’s conditions. There remains a close line of communication between the Friedkins, sporting director Tony D’Amico, Gian Piero Gasperini and Jorge Mendes, who is continuing to work on the deal and remains in contact with Porto.
Mora’s lawyer has also spoken about the impact of the negotiations on the player: “I assure you that the boy is suffering because of this situation. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes.”
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reports that Roma remain in contact with both Porto and Mora’s representatives as they continue trying to unlock an operation that is still stalled.
The deal therefore remains alive, but the next move now depends heavily on whether Roma’s ownership are prepared to make another financial step and meet Porto’s demands.
