Roma and Porto are preparing documents for Rodrigo Mora, while the Giallorossi continue working on Luis Henrique and maintain contacts for Malick Fofana, Gabriel Martinelli and Alessio Cacciamani.
Roma’s transfer market may finally be approaching the breakthrough Gian Piero Gasperini has been waiting for. After weeks of negotiations, Rodrigo Mora is now close to joining the Giallorossi, while work continues on several other potential reinforcements.
Rodrigo Mora deal moves toward completion
Sunday brought the most significant progress yet in Roma’s pursuit of Rodrigo Mora.
According to Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, Roma and Porto are now preparing the documentation required to complete the transfer. The contracts must be read, checked and approved before Porto formally authorize Mora to travel to Italy.
That authorization could arrive Monday or Tuesday at the latest, with Roma now described as very optimistic that the transfer will be completed.
The breakthrough came after Roma modified the structure and payment terms of their proposal rather than significantly increasing its overall economic value.
Gianluca Di Marzio reported that negotiations returned to a formula based around €25 million plus a 50% share of a future resale.
Roma have maintained confidence throughout the negotiations, helped by Mora’s determination to make the move. Recent reporting has consistently indicated that the Portuguese youngster has been pushing Porto to reach an agreement with the Giallorossi.

Luis Henrique could follow Mora
Roma are also continuing to work on Luis Henrique, although there are still important details to resolve.
According to Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, there are several positive indications surrounding the operation, but Roma still need the Brazilian’s complete approval from both a sporting and financial perspective.
An agreement over his salary has not yet been reached, meaning Roma must make the right economic proposal before the deal can close.
Earlier reports from Gianluca Di Marzio indicated that Roma and Inter have an understanding worth approximately €30 million including bonuses, with the Giallorossi prioritizing the completion of Mora before making their decisive move for Luis Henrique.
Malick Fofana remains in the background
Despite Mora moving closer, Malick Fofana has not disappeared from Roma’s radar.
Romano and Moretto report that the Lyon winger was offered to Roma again this week.
Roma have been strongly linked with Fofana throughout the last few days, with reports also claiming the club have been prepared to reach the €40 million region for the Belgian. Galatasaray are providing competition and can offer the winger a more lucrative salary.
For now, however, Roma’s imminent breakthrough for Mora could influence whether they decide to make another major investment in the attacking department.
Fresh contacts for Alessio Cacciamani
Roma have also reopened discussions surrounding Alessio Cacciamani.
According to Romano and Moretto, the Giallorossi held new contacts for the Torino youngster this week.
Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has publicly acknowledged that several clubs are monitoring Cacciamani but insists the Granata would prefer to keep him unless a significant proposal arrives.
Roma therefore remain interested, although convincing Torino to sanction the youngster’s departure remains difficult.
Martinelli enquiries confirmed
Gabriel Martinelli has also returned to the conversation.
According to Lorenzo Canicchio, Roma have made enquiries for the Arsenal winger. The operation is considered difficult but has not been described as completely impossible.
That contrasts with other reports suggesting Martinelli’s salary makes the operation financially prohibitive for Roma. His wage demands therefore remain the central obstacle if the Giallorossi decide to explore the possibility further.
Udogie situation remains open
Roma also continue to evaluate Destiny Udogie for the left flank.
Attilio Malena reports that Tottenham are not satisfied with Roma’s proposed loan with an option to buy. Spurs could, however, become more receptive to a formula containing an obligation to buy.
Roma must now decide whether to modify their proposal or continue assessing alternatives for the position.
Roma finally approaching the breakthrough
After a transfer saga filled with changes of formula, stalled negotiations and competing reports, Mora is closer than ever to becoming a Roma player.
The preparation of documents represents the clearest indication yet that the operation is moving toward completion. Roma will remain cautious until contracts are approved and Porto formally authorize the player’s trip to Italy.
If Mora arrives as expected, attention can quickly turn toward Luis Henrique and the remaining pieces of Gasperini’s squad. Fofana, Cacciamani, Udogie and Martinelli remain situations to monitor as Tony D’Amico attempts to complete Roma’s summer business before the window closes.
