The Rossoneri are reportedly exploring a creative move involving Santiago Gimenez, but Roma remain ahead after weeks of negotiations and Mora’s openness to joining Gasperini.
With two weeks remaining in the transfer window, Roma are still searching for the attacking winger Gian Piero Gasperini has been waiting for. Rodrigo Mora remains the preferred target.
The Giallorossi have been working on a deal for the Porto talent for weeks, but negotiations remain stalled over the structure of the operation. Mora has reportedly made his desire to move to Italy clear, while his limited involvement under Francesco Farioli has added further uncertainty around his future.
According to SportMediaset the situation has now become more complicated following interest from AC Milan.
The Rossoneri are reportedly evaluating a potential move for the 19-year-old and could explore a creative formula involving Santiago Gimenez. However, the idea remains preliminary and has not yet developed into a structured negotiation.
Despite Milan’s emergence, Roma remain in pole position for Mora.
Sporting director Tony D’Amico has been working on the operation for some time, while Gasperini continues to push for the Portuguese attacker. Mora has also given positive indications toward a move to the capital.
The decisive obstacle remains Porto president André Villas-Boas. Roma are still waiting for his approval on the conditions required to complete the transfer.
For now, D’Amico is continuing to monitor the situation without abandoning negotiations. Milan’s interest adds another element to an already complicated deal, but Roma remain ahead in the race as they seek the breakthrough needed to finally bring Mora to Trigoria.
