8:20 PM ET — Matteo Moretto: Roma remain best positioned for Luis Henrique
According to Matteo Moretto, Luis Henrique and Inter are expected to part ways, with Roma the club that have pushed with the greatest intensity for the Brazilian in recent weeks.
An economic agreement is still missing over both salary and agent commissions, but if the Giallorossi decide to make the decisive push, they are in a position to complete the operation and bring Luis Henrique to Roma.
2:09 PM ET — Fabrizio Romano: New Malick Fofana developments expected tomorrow
According to Fabrizio Romano, no decisive updates are expected tonight regarding Roma’s pursuit of Malick Fofana, with Lyon focused on their Champions League qualifier this evening.
The situation is expected to accelerate again from tomorrow, when fresh developments in negotiations for the Belgian winger are anticipated.
10:46 AM ET — Romain Molina: Roc Nation involved in complicated Malick Fofana situation
According to Romain Molina, Roc Nation is involved in the Malick Fofana situation, which he describes as another transfer case featuring intense media pressure, expected offers that have not materialized and potentially complicated financial structures.
Molina adds that the situation should serve as a lesson for Lyon, who reportedly believed they could easily generate significant fees from several player sales this summer but have discovered that the process is far from straightforward
8:14 AM ET — Il Tempo: Roma accelerate for Malick Fofana after closing Rodrigo Mora deal
According to Il Tempo and Lorenzo Pes, Roma are accelerating their push for Malick Fofana now that the Rodrigo Mora deal has been resolved.
Sporting director Tony D’Amico has reportedly already reached an agreement with Lyon worth €35 million plus bonuses, while personal terms with the Belgian winger are also in place.
Lyon would prefer to keep Fofana until August 26 for the second leg of their Champions League playoff, a request that does not particularly appeal to Roma.
However, negotiations remain open and the Giallorossi could accept the delay if they receive more favourable financial conditions in return.
Roma have an agreement with Fofana but still need to decide whether to proceed, while Luis Henrique remains an alternative with personal terms still unresolved.
Roma are preparing to make their next attacking move after the Rodrigo Mora breakthrough, with Malick Fofana and Luis Henrique now at the centre of the club’s decision.
According to Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, Roma will now decide whether to proceed for Fofana, with whom they already have an agreement, or continue pushing for Luis Henrique.
The situation with the Inter winger remains less advanced on the player side. Roma have not yet reached an economic agreement with Luis Henrique, leaving further work to be done before that operation can move forward.
Fofana therefore appears to have a clearer contractual path, but Sacha Tavolieri adds an important complication. The Belgian has reportedly always wanted to complete a full season with Lyon before leaving the club.
It remains to be seen whether Roma’s interest and the possibility of joining Gian Piero Gasperini’s project can change Fofana’s position.
The Giallorossi now face a strategic choice over which winger to prioritize as they continue reshaping the attack for the final stretch of the summer transfer window.
