The new Roma signing discussed the supporters, his admiration for Paulo Dybala and the prospect of making his Champions League debut.
Rodrigo Mora has delivered his first interview as a Roma player following the completion of his transfer from Porto.
The Portuguese talent thanked both clubs and expressed his appreciation for the supporters who welcomed him upon his arrival in the Italian capital.
“First of all, I would like to thank Roma and Porto,” Mora said. “I am very happy to be here, and I thank the supporters for the welcome they gave me at the airport.
“I am honestly delighted, and I hope to experience a great season here.”
On playing alongside Dybala
Mora revealed that he grew up watching Paulo Dybala and is excited by the opportunity to become the Argentine attacker’s teammate.
“I think I grew up a lot during my childhood watching Dybala, and now being able to play alongside him is something extremely rewarding for me.
“That is why I am so eager to play with him and get to know him.”
On Roma’s supporters
The 19-year-old already experienced the atmosphere created by the Giallorossi faithful when Porto visited the Stadio Olimpico.
“I remember when I played against Roma—the supporters stayed in my mind,” Mora explained. “They are extremely passionate and loud.
“What struck me most was their warmth and the amount of noise they made. It was a difficult match which Roma won, but the supporters were what impressed me most.”
On playing in the Champions League
Mora could also make his first appearance in Europe’s leading club competition following Roma’s qualification for the Champions League.
“Playing in the Champions League for the first time is something I have always dreamed about,” he said.
“I have not yet had the opportunity to do it, and I know I am still young, but it has always been a dream and an objective of mine.
“I am extremely happy, and I cannot wait to play in this competition.”
