The Giallorossi remain patient as they evaluate attacking reinforcements, while Manchester City continue to consider Manu Koné.
Roma are reassessing their priorities for the closing stages of the summer transfer window after completing the signing of Rodrigo Mora.
The Giallorossi still want to add a wide attacker to Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad, but the pursuits of Malick Fofana, Luis Henrique and Alessio Cacciamani have all encountered obstacles.
Roma remain interested in Fofana
Roma have agreed personal terms with Malick Fofana, but negotiations with Lyon have not advanced.
Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto report that Lyon value the Belgian winger at approximately €35 million, with no agreement currently in place between the clubs.
A more cautious version has arrived from France. L’Équipe claims Roma and Lyon have not yet opened formal negotiations and places the French club’s asking price at €45 million.
Lyon will not consider Fofana’s departure before the second leg of their Champions League playoff against Fenerbahçe on August 26.
Alfredo Pedullà reports that Roma expected little room for progress before that date and remain willing to monitor the player. The Giallorossi have an agreement with Fofana’s representatives but are in no hurry to make a decisive move.
Roma’s administrative department has reportedly informed Gasperini that the club cannot currently finance the operation without completing player sales. The preferred strategy is now to sign an attacking winger on loan with an option to buy.
No agreement for Luis Henrique
Roma and Inter have not reached an agreement for Luis Henrique despite reports of an operation worth just under €30 million.
According to Pedullà, the situation is currently at a standstill. Roma are only prepared to consider a loan with an option to make the transfer permanent.
Inter continue to maintain significant financial demands and would prefer to find a solution for the Brazilian winger before the window closes.
Roma must also reach an economic agreement with Luis Henrique over personal terms. The Giallorossi are conducting a careful assessment and are not applying pressure to complete the deal.
Cacciamani interest cools
Roma reopened contact for Alessio Cacciamani on August 3, but their pursuit has cooled in recent days.
Pedullà reports that the Giallorossi are not currently prepared to increase their offer and value the Torino youngster at no more than €12–15 million.
Earlier reports suggested Roma were considering a proposal worth around €15 million plus a future sell-on percentage. Torino are requesting approximately €20 million.
Milan have also been linked with Cacciamani and could use Torino’s interest in taking Alphadjo Cissè on loan during potential negotiations.
Although Niccolò Fortini’s arrival from Fiorentina could make Torino more open to a sale, Roma are currently unwilling to meet the Granata’s valuation.
Udogie pursuit suffers setback
Roma’s pursuit of Destiny Udogie has also cooled.
Il Messaggero reports that Tottenham are unwilling to sanction a loan, which remains Roma’s preferred formula for the operation.
Udogie is interested in returning to Italy, but the Giallorossi have not reached an agreement with the defender over personal terms.
With the clubs divided over the transfer structure and no economic agreement with the player, Roma are increasingly likely to consider alternative options.
Manchester City continue to monitor Koné
Manu Koné remains under consideration at Manchester City as the Premier League club plan to add two midfielders before the transfer window closes.
According to Ben Jacobs, Koné is one of several candidates being assessed. City are also pursuing Enzo Fernández and Ayyoub Bouaddi, while enquiries have been made for other midfield options.
Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail reports that Roma value Koné at approximately £51 million.
No formal offer has arrived for the French international, and Roma have shown no intention of actively seeking his departure. A significant proposal would be required to bring his future into question.
Two late additions remain possible
Despite the current financial limitations, Roma could still complete two additions before the transfer window closes.
The Giallorossi are considering strengthening both the attacking midfield and wide areas, although permanent investments may depend on outgoing transfers.
For now, Roma remain patient and are prioritizing opportunities that can be completed on loan with an option to buy.
