Roma continue to monitor the French attacker, but two rival clubs have now opened direct discussions with the Rossoneri
Christopher Nkunku is expected to leave AC Milan before the transfer window closes, with Newcastle United and RB Leipzig making contact over a potential deal.
According to Fabrizio Romano, both clubs have approached Milan to understand the conditions required to sign the French attacker. Discussions remain at an early stage and no agreement has been reached, but talks surrounding his future are continuing.
Roma are also monitoring the situation after being linked with Nkunku in recent weeks. The Giallorossi still want to add another attacking player to Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad, although their current financial strategy is focused primarily on loans or deals requiring limited immediate expenditure.
Newcastle and Leipzig have now taken more concrete steps by establishing direct contact with Milan. Leipzig could offer Nkunku the opportunity to return to Germany, where he previously enjoyed a successful spell before joining Chelsea.
The 28-year-old’s future remains unresolved, but his departure from Milan is considered likely before the end of the window. Roma remain among the clubs credited with an interest, although there is no indication that the Giallorossi have opened advanced negotiations.
With Milan assessing the available options and multiple clubs now involved, the structure and financial conditions of a potential transfer will be decisive in determining Nkunku’s next destination.
