AS Roma have reached a verbal agreement for Jayden Oosterwolde, but their search for an attacking winger remains unresolved.

Roma agree Oosterwolde deal

AS Roma have reached a verbal agreement with Fenerbahçe for Jayden Oosterwolde. Fabrizio Romano reports that the transfer will be structured as a loan with an option to buy for around €18 million. The clause can become mandatory if certain conditions are met.

Matteo Moretto also reports that negotiations are complete. Lorenzo Canicchio adds that the clubs are expected to exchange documents on Sunday after Fenerbahçe accepted Roma’s formula and financial terms.

The agreement completes a rapid four-day negotiation after Canicchio first revealed Roma’s interest on August 18. Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo had previously reported a total package of €17–18 million, including bonuses.

Chelsea reject Gittens proposal

Roma submitted an offer to sign Jamie Bynoe-Gittens on a paid loan worth €3 million with a €40 million option to buy, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. Chelsea rejected the proposal and have not opened the door to a temporary departure. Gianluca Di Marzio

Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea do not consider Bynoe-Gittens available and have categorically ruled out a loan. The winger is appreciated by Roma, but the pursuit cannot progress unless the London club changes its position.

No agreement for Luis Henrique

Roma have yet to reach an agreement with Luis Henrique or his representatives, according to Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto. The Brazilian understands that Inter are prepared to consider offers for him, but his potential move to the Giallorossi remains unresolved. Further developments could emerge during the coming week.

Tottenham block Tel approach

Roma also attempted to explore a move for Mathys Tel in recent days.

According to Corriere della Sera, Tottenham’s response was immediate and definitive. Roberto De Zerbi considers the French attacker untouchable and does not want him to leave.

Roma must therefore remove another attacking option from their list as sporting director Tony D’Amico searches for a right-footed left winger.

Nkunku prioritizes Leipzig return

Christopher Nkunku is also moving away from Roma after giving absolute priority to a return to RB Leipzig.

Matteo Moretto reports that negotiations between the parties are advanced, while Gianluigi Longari states that Leipzig have offered Milan a loan with an option to buy worth approximately €35 million.

Milan are reportedly open to the formula. Although Roma monitored Nkunku’s situation, the player’s preference and Leipzig’s progress make a move to the Giallorossi increasingly unlikely.

Roma evaluate El Aynaoui sale

Roma could generate funds for their remaining business by selling Neil El Aynaoui.

According to La Repubblica, several Saudi clubs are interested in the Moroccan midfielder. Roma have set an asking price of €35 million and want to generate a capital gain of at least €15 million.

No formal offer or advanced negotiation has been reported, but the club are considering the possibility of a sale.

A deal at Roma’s valuation would create additional financial flexibility and could allow the management to reconsider more expensive incoming operations.

Gasperini shuts down Koné rumours

While El Aynaoui’s future is being evaluated, Gasperini has insisted Manu Koné was never involved in transfer negotiations.

“Koné has never been involved in negotiations,” the Roma coach said during Saturday’s press conference. “It’s fundamental that he’s at Roma, and I believe he’s happy.”

The comments follow reports linking the French midfielder with Manchester City and other Premier League clubs.

Gasperini open to two more signings

Gasperini confirmed that Roma could still add two players before the transfer window closes, but only if the right opportunities emerge.

“I don’t want players for the sake of making signings,” Gasperini said. “Anyone who arrives must be strongly wanted and must strongly want to play for Roma.

“We can add two players, but only under the ideal conditions. Otherwise, we’ll remain as we are.”

Roma’s immediate priority is completing the Oosterwolde operation. Their search for an attacking winger will continue, but the failed approaches for Gittens and Tel, combined with Nkunku’s preference for Leipzig, mean D’Amico may need to turn toward targets whose names have not yet emerged.
