8:21 PM ET — Jayden Oosterwolde expected in Rome this week

Jayden Oosterwolde is expected to arrive in Rome at the beginning of the week, according to Matteo Moretto.

Gian Piero Gasperini reportedly plans to use the Dutchman primarily as a wing-back.

12:41 PM ET — Roma could pursue another wing-back

AS Roma are expected to remain active after completing their agreement with Fenerbahçe for Jayden Oosterwolde, according to Matteo Moretto.

Only the customary administrative steps remain before the Dutch defender’s move can be finalized, while the Giallorossi could pursue another wing-back and further market surprises have not been ruled out.

The Fenerbahçe defender is expected to travel for his medical and signing within the next 48 hours

Roma are closing in on the signing of Jayden Oosterwolde with negotiations with Fenerbahçe now focused on the final conditions of the purchase clause.

According to Filippo Biafora the two clubs are still discussing the specific terms that would transform Roma’s option to buy into an obligation.

The operation is nevertheless considered close to completion, with the Giallorossi and Fenerbahçe working to settle the remaining details.

€15m option can become mandatory

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Oosterwolde will join Roma on loan with an option to buy set at €15 million.

The clause can become an obligation if predetermined conditions are met. The precise triggers have not yet been disclosed and remain the central subject of the final negotiations.

Including the loan fee and potential bonuses, the entire operation could reach approximately €18 million.

Travel and medical planned

According to Nicolò Schira, Roma are organizing Oosterwolde’s journey to the Italian capital, medical examinations and contract signing within the next 48 hours.

The Dutch defender has already reached a complete agreement with Roma and has pushed Fenerbahçe to approve his departure.

Schira reports that Oosterwolde will sign an agreement running until 2031 under a one-plus-four-year structure. The player is expected to earn approximately €1.6 million per season.

The longer portion of the contract would become relevant if Roma make the transfer permanent.

Final negotiations continue

Oosterwolde has been identified as a suitable addition for Gian Piero Gasperini because of his physicality and tactical versatility.

The 25-year-old can operate as a left wing-back, full-back or on the left side of a three-man defence, giving Gasperini another option in multiple systems.

No definitive announcement has been made, but the operation has reached its final stage. Once Roma and Fenerbahçe settle the conditions attached to the purchase obligation, Oosterwolde will be cleared to travel and complete his move.
