Roma are planning another attempt for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens as Jayden Oosterwolde prepares to complete his move and interest grows in Jan Ziolkowski.
Roma remain active during the final week of the transfer window after opening their Serie A season with a 4-0 victory over Fiorentina.
The Giallorossi are preparing to welcome Jayden Oosterwolde, intend to make another attempt for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and must decide the futures of Jan Ziolkowski and Neil El Aynaoui.
Roma prepare final Gittens attempt
Roma intend to make another—and potentially final—attempt to sign Bynoe-Gittens from Chelsea by Wednesday, according to Alfredo Pedullà.
Chelsea rejected Roma’s opening proposal, reportedly worth €3 million for the loan with a €40 million option to buy. The Blues have refused to consider a temporary departure, leaving Roma dependent on the London club changing its position.
Attilio Malena reports that the Giallorossi will attempt to intensify their pursuit. Aston Villa have also made an enquiry for the winger, adding further competition.
Gittens remains a concrete target, but there is no agreement and Chelsea’s position continues to represent the principal obstacle.
Oosterwolde expected in Rome
Oosterwolde is expected to arrive at Ciampino Airport on Tuesday morning before undergoing his medical examinations and signing his Roma contract, according to Filippo Biafora.
Roma will pay Fenerbahçe €1 million for the initial loan. The agreement includes a €15 million purchase option and €2 million in bonuses. The option will become mandatory if Oosterwolde makes 15 appearances of at least 45 minutes.
The defender has already resumed running as he works toward a return to full fitness.
Matteo Moretto reports that Roma could still pursue another wing-back after completing the Oosterwolde operation, meaning the club’s work on the flanks may not be finished.
Roma weigh Ziolkowski decision
Roma must decide whether to sell Ziolkowski permanently or allow him to leave on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Parma have proposed a permanent transfer, while Monza want a loan with an option to buy. Two unnamed foreign clubs are also monitoring the defender and could offer more than Parma.
Lorenzo Canicchio reports that Sassuolo have joined the race, although the proposed formula remains an issue. Roma have not yet made a final decision.
Fofana remains under consideration
Malick Fofana remains on Roma’s attacking shortlist, according to Il Messaggero and Pedullà.
Roma previously reached an agreement with the winger’s representatives but would need Lyon to accept a loan. The French club have so far resisted that formula.
Pedullà reports that a potential sale does not depend on Lyon’s Champions League qualification, contrasting with Sacha Tavolieri’s claim that Fofana would prefer to stay if the club reaches the competition.
Crystal Palace interested in El Aynaoui
Crystal Palace have identified Neil El Aynaoui as a midfield target, according to Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato.
The Moroccan is reportedly receptive to the possibility of moving to the Premier League, although no formal offer has been made.
His departure could create the financial room required for Roma to pursue Benfica midfielder Richard Ríos. Alfredo Pedullà maintains that Roma strongly appreciate the Colombian but have not submitted an official offer.
Roma are also monitoring Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, but his reported €40 million–€45 million valuation makes a deal difficult.
Aston Villa advance for Leão
Aston Villa have opened talks with Milan over Rafael Leão after the Portuguese winger expressed openness to the move, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Jorge Mendes reportedly helped establish contact between the clubs, which are now attempting to reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
Leão had previously been proposed to Roma, but the Giallorossi appear focused on other attacking profiles. Sacha Tavolieri had earlier reported that the winger’s preference was to join Galatasaray.
Meanwhile, Roma’s proposed move for Luis Henrique is considered off. Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto report that the parties failed to reach an agreement over personal terms.
