The Brazilian winger is expected in Riyadh after Arsenal agreed to sell him to Simone Inzaghi’s side.
Gabriel Martinelli is set to leave Arsenal and complete a transfer to Al-Hilal.
According to Alfredo Pedullà the agreement is worth approximately €59 million. Martinelli is expected to travel from London to Riyadh on Tuesday before completing the remaining formalities and joining Simone Inzaghi’s squad.
The move will end the Brazilian winger’s seven-year spell with Arsenal, having joined the Premier League club from Ituano in 2019.
Pedullà rules out Roma interest
Martinelli had been linked with several clubs during the closing stages of the transfer window, including Roma and Inter.
Pedullà, however, reports that neither Italian club was genuinely involved in the race for the 25-year-old. Al-Hilal emerged as the concrete destination and moved quickly to reach an agreement with Arsenal.
The Saudi club had already strengthened its attacking options by signing Crysencio Summerville, another winger previously considered by Roma. Martinelli will now become the latest major addition to Inzaghi’s squad as Al-Hilal continue their ambitious summer recruitment campaign.
Final confirmation is expected after Martinelli arrives in Riyadh and completes the necessary formalities.
