1:07 PM ET — Fabrizio Romano: Monza close in on Jan Ziolkowski loan
According to Fabrizio Romano, Monza are closing in on an agreement with Roma to sign Jan Ziolkowski on an initial loan.
The deal could also include an option to buy after Monza requested the clause during Wednesday’s negotiations although the final structure has not yet been confirmed.
The Roma defender’s representatives are reportedly at Monza’s headquarters as the clubs work to finalize a loan agreement.
Jan Ziolkowski is moving closer to joining Monza after the Serie A club advanced negotiations with Roma.
According to Il Romanista, the Polish defender’s representatives are currently at Monza’s headquarters while the two clubs work to complete the agreement.
The proposed operation is expected to be a paid loan containing an option to buy in Monza’s favour. Final details remain under discussion, but the deal is now reportedly approaching completion.
Roma have been evaluating several offers for Ziolkowski during the final days of the transfer window. The Giallorossi consider Monza an attractive destination because it would allow the defender to remain in Serie A and gain more regular playing time.
Ziolkowski struggled for opportunities during his first season in Rome and is currently behind several players in Gian Piero Gasperini’s defensive hierarchy.
A move to Monza would give the Polish international an opportunity to continue his development in Italian football. However, the transfer has not yet been officially completed.
