According to Filippo Biafora on Mana Sport Roma, Jayden Oosterwolde passed his medical examinations with Roma and has already resumed running on the pitch.

However, the club’s doctors believe his recovery could take longer than the two to three weeks reportedly communicated by Fenerbahçe.

Roma are expected to make a final decision on Jayden Oosterwolde after receiving the results of additional medical examinations on Wednesday.

The defender did not fail his initial medical in the conventional sense. Lorenzo Canicchio reports that Oosterwolde completed the examinations on Tuesday and received the necessary sporting clearance before undergoing further checks requested by Roma.

Those additional assessments reportedly produced concerns over his physical condition. According to Mana Sport Roma, a problem may have been identified that could require approximately two months before Oosterwolde is ready to return to action.

Angelo Mangiante reports that Roma have not yet given definitive approval to the medical process. Given the potential €15 million commitment involved, the club want a clearer understanding of the defender’s previous injuries before making their decision.

Roma seek change to Oosterwolde deal

The concerns have also prompted Roma to reconsider the structure of the agreement reached with Fenerbahçe.

According to Il Messaggero, the original operation was expected to be a loan with an option to buy that could become mandatory under certain conditions. Roma would now prefer a straight loan without a purchase clause, shifting the financial risk associated with the player’s condition.

Fenerbahçe must decide whether to accept the revised proposal.

Canicchio adds that Roma had requested assurances regarding Oosterwolde’s fitness before closing the transfer. The club reportedly found those assurances less convincing after conducting its own examinations, despite the signing and presentation process having already been prepared.

The final verdict from Roma’s medical department is expected on Wednesday. Until then, the transfer remains unresolved.
