Roma were placed in Pot 2 and drew two opponents from each of the four pots. Real Madrid and PSG represent the two Pot 1 opponents, while the Giallorossi will face Sporting at home and Manchester United away from their own pot.

Lille and Fenerbahçe were drawn from Pot 3, with Slovan Bratislava and AEK Athens completing Roma’s schedule from Pot 4.

European giants await Roma

Real Madrid’s visit will produce one of the most anticipated European nights at the Olimpico in recent years. The away fixtures in Paris and Manchester will provide major tests of Roma’s ability to compete against Europe’s leading clubs.

Trips to Istanbul and Athens should also present intense atmospheres, while the home matches against Sporting, Lille and Slovan Bratislava could prove decisive in Roma’s attempt to reach the knockout phase.

Roma CEO John Galantic welcomed the challenge after the draw.

“Every team we will face is difficult,” Galantic told Sky Sport. “There will be some exciting challenges, and it will be wonderful for the supporters and the team.”

The Roma executive also emphasized that returning to Europe’s leading competition must become the club’s standard.

“We must thank the supporters,” he added. “Roma must always be in the Champions League.”

When will Roma’s fixtures be confirmed?

UEFA will publish the complete fixture list, including match dates and kick-off times, no later than Saturday, August 29. The league phase begins between September 8 and 10 and concludes on January 27. UEFA confirmed the competition’s pots and calendar.

The top eight teams in the 36-club table will qualify directly for the round of 16. Teams finishing between ninth and 24th will enter the knockout-phase playoffs, while those placed 25th or lower will be eliminated.

Roma now know the scale of the challenge ahead: four prestigious nights at the Olimpico and four difficult journeys across Europe as Gasperini leads the club back into the Champions League.
