The clubs have reached a revised agreement, but the Dutch defender must still accept Roma’s new proposal.
Roma have reportedly revived their move for Jayden Oosterwolde after reaching a new agreement with Fenerbahçe.
According to Voetbal International, the two clubs have renegotiated the terms of the transfer following concerns over the defender’s recovery timeline. Oosterwolde must now decide whether to accept Roma’s revised offer before the operation can proceed.
The 25-year-old has already completed his medical examinations, giving Roma a clear understanding of his physical condition and the rehabilitation period he requires.
Oosterwolde could still return to Rome
Roma initially reconsidered the transfer after additional medical tests indicated that Oosterwolde would need longer to recover than the club had previously understood.
The Giallorossi consequently attempted to change the financial structure of their original agreement with Fenerbahçe. Reports had suggested the deal had collapsed, and Oosterwolde temporarily returned to Istanbul.
Roma, however, have not completely abandoned the move. Gian Piero Gasperini appreciates the defender’s profile and reportedly wants him as a more physical alternative to Wesley on the flank.
The clubs have now found a new potential solution, but the transfer remains dependent on Oosterwolde accepting Roma’s altered conditions. A return to the Italian capital is therefore possible, although the deal cannot yet be considered complete.
