Chelsea winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Roma’s preferred attacking target ahead of Malick Fofana

Roma prioritize Gittens over Fofana in winger search

Gian Piero Gasperini currently prefers the Chelsea attacker as the Giallorossi consider improving their loan proposal.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is currently ahead of Malick Fofana among Gian Piero Gasperini’s preferred attacking targets, according to Checco Casano.

Roma are expected to determine during the day whether they can submit an improved proposal to Chelsea. The Giallorossi’s previous offer was structured as a loan with an option to buy, but the London club have repeatedly resisted allowing Gittens to leave on a temporary deal.

No agreement has been reached, and Roma must first understand whether Chelsea are willing to reconsider their position before submitting new terms.

Fofana remains Roma’s alternative

Fofana remains a serious option if Roma cannot make progress for Gittens.

The Giallorossi have already reached an agreement with the Lyon winger’s entourage, but the French club’s asking price makes the operation considerably more expensive. Reports have placed Fofana’s valuation at approximately €30 million plus €5 million in bonuses.

Gittens is therefore Roma’s current priority, but the transfer depends on Chelsea opening the door to negotiations. If the Premier League club maintains its refusal, Roma could turn their attention toward Fofana or another attacking profile during the final days of the window.

Roma make Gittens top target ahead of Fofana

According to Filippo Biafora, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is the first name on Roma’s shortlist for a new left winger and currently ranks ahead of Malick Fofana.

The Giallorossi continue working to find a solution for the Chelsea attacker as the transfer deadline approaches.
