Mile Svilar: “Roma Must Impose Themselves and Take Three Points”

The Roma goalkeeper called for continuity and praised the strength of the squad before the Serie A match against Lecce.

Mile Svilar spoke to Sky Sport and DAZN shortly before Roma’s Serie A match against Lecce at the Via del Mare.

The goalkeeper discussed Roma’s strong defensive start, the difficult atmosphere awaiting the team and the importance of maintaining momentum after their opening victory over Fiorentina.

Svilar calls for defensive continuity

Asked about the encouraging defensive response produced by Roma, Svilar emphasized the need to maintain the same standard.

“I think we must always try to find consistency,” Svilar told DAZN. “It is better to begin the way we did, and we need to continue that starting today.”

Roma opened their Serie A campaign with a 4-0 victory over Fiorentina, keeping a clean sheet while controlling the match at the Stadio Olimpico.

“We must impose ourselves”

Svilar is familiar with the challenges presented by the Via del Mare and expects another difficult match against Lecce.

“We have come here for many years, so we know the pitch and the atmosphere,” he said. “They are difficult. Today, we must impose ourselves and take the three points home.”

The goalkeeper also highlighted the continuity within Roma’s dressing room when asked about the team developing under Gian Piero Gasperini.

“It is a group that has been together for several years, and that is always beneficial,” Svilar concluded.
