Giuseppe Riso has revealed that Gianluca Mancini rejected an important financial opportunity to remain with Roma while describing Bryan Cristante as part of the club’s history.

Giuseppe Riso, who represents both players, discussed their relationship with the club during an interview with Tuttosport.
Mancini Made a Decision From the Heart
Mancini had the opportunity to consider leaving the Italian capital but made his preference clear to his agent.
“Mancini only told me one thing: ‘I want to stay here,’” Riso said.
“Gianluca made a decision from the heart, and that should not be taken for granted—especially when an important financial offer is in front of you. He gave greater importance to what he felt than to what he could have earned.”
Mancini has developed into one of Roma’s dressing-room leaders and remains an essential part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s defensive plans.
His decision reflected the commitment highlighted by Gasperini when discussing the players who placed their attachment to Roma ahead of financial considerations.
Riso: “Cristante Is Already Part of Roma’s History”
Riso offered similarly significant praise for Cristante, another long-serving member of Roma’s senior core.
“Bryan is already part of Roma’s history,” the agent said. “In general, he is a player who makes history at the clubs where he plays, both on the pitch and within the environment because of the man he is.”
Cristante’s reliability, versatility and leadership have allowed him to retain a central role under several different Roma coaches.
Roma Preserve the Core of Their Dressing Room
The decisions made by Mancini and Cristante formed part of Roma’s wider effort to preserve the established core of Gasperini’s squad.
Sporting director Tony D’Amico recently identified Mancini and Cristante—alongside Paulo Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini—as four players whose contract situations were addressed following his arrival.
D’Amico praised the senior players for making sacrifices to remain with Roma and described their commitment as one of the most satisfying elements of his opening months at the club.
Riso’s comments provide another indication of the strong bond between Roma’s dressing-room leaders and the Giallorossi.
