Roma’s Adidas kits for the 2027/28 season will reportedly celebrate the club’s centenary by paying tribute to the three historic teams that combined to create the Giallorossi.
According to an exclusive report from Footy Headlines, the collection will honor Alba-Audace, Fortitudo-Pro Roma and Foot Ball Club di Roma, commonly known as Roman.
Roma will celebrate 100 years since their formation on June 7, 2027.
Adidas planning historic Roma centenary collection
The reported concept will recognize the merger that united three of the capital’s football clubs during the spring of 1927.
According to contemporary newspaper archives cited by Footy Headlines, the agreement was finalized during the late afternoon of June 7, 1927. The merger brought together the identities, colors and supporters of the three clubs, creating the institution that would become AS Roma.
That history is expected to provide the inspiration for Adidas’ home, away and third kits throughout the 2027/28 campaign.
The specific colors, patterns and individual tributes planned for each shirt have not yet been revealed. It is therefore unclear whether every founding club will receive a separate kit or whether elements from all three will appear across the complete collection.
Could Roma’s original crest return?
Roma’s centenary preparations have naturally created speculation about the possible use of historic club symbols.
The original crest used between 1927 and 1934 featured the Capitoline Wolf alongside the intertwined ASR monogram, connecting the newly formed club to the history and identity of the city.
Footy Headlines noted the importance of that emblem in its report, although there is currently no confirmation that Adidas will place the original crest—or a modern interpretation of it—on the centenary shirts.
Roma have previously incorporated traditional badges and historical references into their kits. Adidas placed the classic crest centrally on the club’s 2026/27 third shirt, which was inspired by the Roman virtue of Fides.
