Roma’s estimated wage bill has fallen significantly for the 2026/27 season, with Donyell Malen and Evan Ndicka now ranked as the highest-paid players in Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
According to figures compiled by Calcio e Finanza, Roma are expected to spend approximately €52.3 million net on fixed first-team salaries this season. The estimated gross cost is €92.7 million, excluding individual and collective bonuses.
The figures cover only the portion of each salary attributed to the 2026/27 campaign and should be treated as estimates rather than officially disclosed contracts.
Roma reduce wage bill by almost €15 million
Roma’s estimated gross wage bill stood at approximately €107.5 million in 2025/26, with a net cost of €60.9 million.
That means the club have lowered their annual salary expenditure by around €8.6 million net, a reduction of 14.1%. The estimated gross saving is €14.8 million, equivalent to a decrease of approximately 13.8%.
The reduction reflects Roma’s continued restructuring of the squad and the renegotiation of several major contracts. Paulo Dybala led the previous salary ranking at an estimated €6.5 million net per season, but his new agreement has reportedly reduced that figure to €2.5 million.
Despite lowering costs, Roma retain Serie A’s fifth-highest wage bill, behind Inter, Juventus, Napoli and Milan.
Who are Roma’s highest-paid players?
Malen and Ndicka sit at the top of Roma’s 2026/27 salary ranking, with both earning an estimated €4 million net per season.
Mile Svilar, Gianluca Mancini and Mario Hermoso follow at €3.5 million each. Bryan Cristante reportedly earns €3 million, while Manu Koné and Nahuel Molina are both on €2.8 million.
Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Matías Soulé are each listed at €2.5 million net. The new structure is therefore more evenly distributed and no longer dominated by one particularly expensive contract.
Roma’s five highest-paid players account for €18.5 million net—just over 35% of the club’s estimated total wage bill.
