New details have emerged about Roma’s home and away kits for the club’s centenary season, with Adidas reportedly planning tributes to two of the three historic teams that formed AS Roma in 1927.
According to Footy Headlines, the 2027-28 home shirt will honor Football Club di Roma, while the away kit will take inspiration from Fortitudo Pro Roma.
Combined with the previously reported Alba Audace tribute planned for Roma’s third kit, the complete collection would celebrate each of the three clubs that merged to create AS Roma.
Roma 2027-28 Home Kit to Honor Football Club di Roma
Roma’s centenary home shirt is expected to feature the club’s traditional deep red base with gold accents and detailing.
The color combination will pay tribute to Football Club di Roma, the founding team that contributed the iconic yellow and red colors adopted by AS Roma following the 1927 merger.
Despite the historical inspiration, Adidas is reportedly expected to use Roma’s current crest rather than restore the original Football Club di Roma badge.
The specific pattern and final appearance of the shirt have not yet been revealed. Roma’s 2027-28 home kit is scheduled for release in May or June 2027.
Navy Away Kit Inspired by Fortitudo Pro Roma
The 2027-28 away kit will reportedly feature a predominantly navy base accompanied by tonal graphics and vibrant red accents.
Its colors will draw inspiration from the traditional Fortitudo Pro Roma crest, which featured red and blue vertical stripes.
Adidas is expected to reinterpret those historic colors through a modern design rather than produce a direct recreation of Fortitudo’s original shirt or badge.
The choice of navy would also mark the return of a color Roma have used periodically. The Giallorossi previously wore navy kits during the 2005-06, 2019-20, 2021-22 and 2024-25 seasons.
Roma’s new away shirt is expected to be officially released during the summer of 2027.
Roma’s Centenary Collection Celebrates All Three Founders
If the reported plans are confirmed, each shirt in Roma’s 2027-28 collection will represent one of the three clubs involved in the historic merger:
- The home kit will honor Football Club di Roma.
- The away kit will pay tribute to Fortitudo Pro Roma.
- The third kit will celebrate Alba Audace.
The concept would allow Adidas and Roma to commemorate the club’s centenary by telling the story of its origins across the entire kit collection.
The precise designs have not yet been disclosed, meaning details including the patterns, collar styles and placement of the historical references could still emerge closer to the respective release dates.
