Roma’s interest in Endrick is reportedly being matched by the Real Madrid forward’s desire to move to the Italian capital.
According to Corriere dello Sport, sporting director Tony D’Amico considers the Brazilian one of Roma’s priority targets for January. The 20-year-old would add quality, potential and another versatile option to Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack.
Roma have followed Endrick since the summer and have already received encouraging indications from both the player and his father. Endrick has reportedly told friends that joining Roma—where he would reunite with compatriot Wesley—is now a concrete possibility.
Endrick Searching for Regular Playing Time
Endrick has played only four minutes for Real Madrid during the opening weeks of the season, leaving him far from the prominent role he hoped to earn.
The situation contrasts sharply with his loan spell at Lyon last season, where regular playing time helped him rediscover his confidence and earn a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad.
“In France, he rediscovered his happiness,” Endrick’s father previously explained. “Real Madrid had taken the pitch away from him.”
His family now wants to see him playing consistently again, something Roma and Gasperini could potentially offer during the second half of the season.
Why Endrick Appeals to Gasperini
Endrick can operate as a central striker or from the right side of the attack. His pace, direct running and ability to attack space would give Gasperini another option alongside Donyell Malen, Santiago Castro and Matías Soulé.
Roma’s project could also provide the Brazilian with the responsibility he has lacked in Madrid. Gasperini has already demonstrated a willingness to trust young players and develop their tactical understanding without removing their attacking freedom.
Wesley’s presence could help Endrick adapt to life in Italy, with the Roma wing-back previously admitting that he would be happy to welcome his compatriot to Trigoria.
D’Amico Preparing Roma’s January Move
D’Amico is maintaining contact and preparing for a possible acceleration before the January transfer window. Roma are expected to explore a loan agreement, potentially including an option to buy, although Real Madrid’s approval and the financial terms remain important obstacles.
The Champions League meeting between Roma and Real Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico on October 14 could also provide the clubs with an opportunity to discuss the player’s future.
The situation remains at an early stage and no agreement has been reached. However, the mutual interest makes Endrick one of Roma’s most realistic and ambitious January targets.
Roma have not abandoned the pursuit after José Mourinho reportedly convinced Endrick to remain at Real Madrid during the summer. This time, his continued lack of playing time could create the conditions for a deal.
