Ibrahima Konaté, Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappé are expected to be available as Real Madrid prepare for their trip to the Stadio Olimpico.
Real Madrid have received encouraging news on the injury front ahead of their Champions League meeting with AS Roma on October 14.
According to Diario AS, Ibrahima Konaté, Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappé are progressing from their respective physical problems and are expected to be available as José Mourinho’s squad returns to full strength.
Konaté has been recovering from a problem involving the collateral ligament in his right knee. The French defender has now completed work with the group at Valdebebas despite continuing to wear protection on the knee.
Mbappé’s situation had also caused concern after the forward suffered a hyperextension of his left knee while on international duty with France. However, the problem proved less serious than initially feared and Real Madrid expect him to return to action before the trip to Rome.
Valverde has also been working through his recovery programme and is expected to return to Mourinho’s options.
The news represents a significant boost for Real Madrid ahead of a demanding October schedule. Los Blancos face Villarreal on October 10 before travelling to the Stadio Olimpico to face AS Roma four days later.
For Roma, it means preparations must increasingly be made for a Real Madrid side featuring several of its most important players, with Mbappé’s expected availability particularly significant for the Giallorossi defence.
