Devyne Rensch is pushing for a starting place on Roma’s right flank ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico.
According to Simone Valdarchi, the Dutchman is in contention to feature from the first minute as Gian Piero Gasperini considers his options for the European encounter.
Balerdi Expected to Join Mancini and Ndicka
Leonardo Balerdi is expected to complete Roma’s back three alongside Gianluca Mancini and Evan Ndicka.
His inclusion would give the Argentine an opportunity to face Madrid’s attack, while Rensch’s candidacy points to a possible change on the right following the draw at Como.
The starting lineup remains unconfirmed, with Gasperini weighing his selections ahead of kick-off.
Soulé Ahead of Mora and Pellegrini
In attack, Matías Soulé is currently favoured over Rodrigo Mora and Lorenzo Pellegrini to join Paulo Dybala and Donyell Malen.
That would give Roma a technically gifted attacking trio for the meeting with José Mourinho’s side, with Mora and Pellegrini providing alternative options.
For now, Soulé holds the advantage as Gasperini prepares for Roma’s first home Champions League fixture of the campaign.
