Manu Koné has sustained a grade-one muscle injury, with Roma aiming to have the midfielder available again before the next international break.
According to Filippo Biafora, that is the recovery target for the Frenchman following his early withdrawal from Wednesday’s Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.
Tests Clarify Koné’s Injury
Koné was forced off after just 16 minutes against Madrid, with Gian Piero Gasperini subsequently describing the problem as a suspected muscle strain.
The latest update identifies a grade-one injury, although the report does not specify the affected muscle or provide a firm return date.
Koné had already been ruled out of Saturday’s Serie A meeting with Genoa.
Roma Hope for Return Before International Break
The objective is to recover Koné before the upcoming international pause, rather than wait until league action resumes afterward. That remains a target, with his progress set to determine when he can return to contention.
His absence leaves Gasperini without an important midfield option during a busy period of domestic and European fixtures.
For now, Roma must prepare for Genoa without the Frenchman while awaiting further indications on his recovery.
