Roma have reportedly identified Juventus midfielder Teun Koopmeiners as a potential reinforcement, with the possibility of a reunion with Gian Piero Gasperini emerging ahead of the January transfer window.
According to Calciomercato.it, the Giallorossi are interested in the Dutch international, while Juventus admire Roma defender Daniele Ghilardi. However, there are currently no negotiations between the clubs.
Gasperini Reunion Could Appeal to Roma
Koopmeiners enjoyed some of his strongest performances under Gasperini at Atalanta but has struggled to reproduce that form at Juventus.
A move to Roma would offer the midfielder the opportunity to work again with a coach familiar with his qualities. For the Giallorossi, he represents a potential option as they assess how to strengthen a squad facing a demanding schedule.
Gasperini again addressed the issue of squad depth during his pre-Genoa press conference, stressing the demands placed on teams competing across multiple competitions.
Juventus Interested in Ghilardi
The report also identifies Ghilardi as a player of interest to Juventus, creating a possible connection between the clubs’ transfer plans.
That does not mean a swap deal is being negotiated. At this stage, the story concerns reported interest in the two players, with no agreement or formal talks in place.
Roma’s January plans remain to be defined, but Koopmeiners is the latest name linked with a potential move as Gasperini looks for greater depth heading into the second half of the season.
