Bryan Cristante is back in Roma’s squad for tonight’s Champions League match against Slovan Bratislava, handing Gian Piero Gasperini an additional midfield option.
The midfielder’s inclusion comes earlier than anticipated after Gasperini had expressed hope of having him available for the upcoming Serie A trip to Napoli.
Cristante Gives Gasperini a Midfield Boost
Cristante joins Lorenzo Pellegrini, Marten de Roon, Niccolò Pisilli, Di Nunzio and Rodrigo Mora among the midfielders selected for the European fixture.
His return to the squad does not necessarily mean he will start, but it provides welcome depth during a demanding stretch of matches.
Donyell Malen is also included after missing the league victory over Genoa through suspension. He joins Santiago Castro and Matías Soulé in the attacking group.
Paulo Dybala, Manu Koné and Mile Svilar remain absent.
